Remarkable comeback of Marcos Morau and La Veronal that brings a breath of creativity to Spanish dance. Pasionaria, their new opus, promises its weight in strong images and impassioned movements.
With a couple of remarkable shows, Marcos Morau has imposed a gestural writing that also stems from theatre or visual arts. Voronia, Siena or Russia, to name but a few, have placed La Veronal, the company founded in 2005, in front of the public and the critics who applaud it. Pasionaria looks to attach to the study of passion an image more than a word in the shared imagination. It may be question here of mythology and suffering, of passivity and action. Bodies would therefore become the “vehicles” of a study of emotions according to Marcos Morau. “We wish to light the flame so that the spectator may rekindle an interior passion and bring him to discover something that he doesn’t know of himself and of the world!”. We know the choreographer’s taste for meticulous stage design and a precise performance of his dancers. Everything is expected with… passion. From then on, Pasionaria will be an invitation to enter the world of La Veronal, that is as unique as it is dreamlike.
